The Ryde takes the simplest shape there is for a ceiling light: a round disc. The diffuser is white opal glass, flat and barely curved at the edge, held in place by a polished chrome-plated steel ring that creates a bright halo on the ceiling.

An energy-efficient GX53 LED, included

The light source is a 9 W LED bulb with a GX53 cap, included. This flat cap sits behind the glass and can be replaced without tools, with a simple twist. The opal glass spreads the light evenly, with no bright spot in the centre. The light is IP44: it is splash-proof and can therefore be installed on a bathroom ceiling, outside the zone directly above the shower. It cannot be dimmed.

Ceiling fitting, 38 cm in diameter

The ceiling light measures 38 cm in diameter by 9.5 cm in total height and weighs 2.8 kg: use strong ceiling fixings. This size suits a bathroom of 4 to 6 m²; for larger rooms, add wall lights near the mirror. Class I protection: an earth connection is required.
