About this light

The white glass version of the Zen ceiling light: the same chrome base, but with an opal tube that hides the bulb and spreads the light along its full height. The result is softer and less dazzling than with clear glass. Compact (10 cm in diameter, 26 cm high), it suits a small shower room, a WC or a hallway, and works with an E27 bulb of up to 15 W, to be added.

Description

Opal glass and chrome metal

The chrome metal base forms a short cylinder fixed flush to the ceiling. Below it, the satin white glass takes the shape of a capsule with softened corners. When lit, it glows as a single block, with no hot spot or visible filament; when off, it stays crisp and white, which goes well with light tiles or chrome taps.

Diffused light for a wet room

The E27 bulb is not supplied and must not exceed 15 W: a 6 to 8 W opal LED, in warm or neutral white, fits without any problem and the white glass blurs its shape, so there is no need to look for a decorative bulb. The IP44 rating allows installation above a washbasin or in a damp bathroom, away from shower jets. It is connected as Class I, with earth.

Dimensions and ceiling installation

Allow 26 cm in total height for a 10 cm diameter and 0.75 kg: the ceiling light can be fixed to a plasterboard ceiling with standard wall plugs. Under a low ceiling, its slim profile makes it unobtrusive, and the cable outlet is connected beneath the base.
