Clear glass, chrome neck, bulb on show
The clear globe reveals everything inside: the chrome neck descending from the ceiling rose, the lampholder and the bulb, which becomes the central feature. The ball is slightly flattened, wider than it is tall, and casts reflections onto the tiles when lit.
A light source to choose with care
With no diffusing glass, the bulb is directly visible: opt for a filament LED or a satin-glass bulb rather than an overly powerful clear bulb. The E27 lampholder accepts up to 60 W, bulb to be supplied. The ceiling light is suitable for use with a dimmer, provided a dimmable bulb is fitted; this is a real advantage here for softening an exposed light source. With its IP44 rating, it must stay in the bathroom outside the areas splashed by the shower. Class I.
Space on the ceiling
Allow 34 cm of total height and a 30 cm footprint on the ceiling; the globe alone measures 29 cm. At 2.25 kg, it needs a secure fixing, not just a simple screw in plaster. Placed in the centre of a medium-sized room, it replaces a classic ceiling light; in a large room, complement it with wall lights by the mirror.
