About this light

The chrome version of the three-light Phoenix: the same 40 cm black steel drum and the same frosted glass underneath, but here the cage encircling the body is in shiny chrome-plated metal rather than gold. The look is cooler and suits chrome taps and fittings. Three E14 caps power this bathroom ceiling light, which is suitable for the bathroom thanks to its IP44 rating.

Description

Matt black and polished chrome

The black lacquered mild steel drum carries a chrome ring, held at a distance by small brackets, which frames the frosted glass disc. When lit, the glass becomes an even white surface and the chrome reflects its glow; when off, the black dominates.

Three E14 lamps and an optional dimmer

The three E14 lampholders take bulbs of up to 60 W each, not included in the box. As the specification states, the light fitting works with a dimmer: fit dimmable LED bulbs and a dimmer switch to lower the light in the evening. With IP44, it withstands steam and splashes from the basin; just avoid placing it above the bath or inside the shower cubicle. Double insulation (Class II).

Ceiling installation and proportions

The Phoenix 40 cm is 9.5 cm high and weighs 2.44 kg: the mounting plate is screwed to the ceiling with plugs suited to the surface, then the body is fixed onto it. For a large bathroom or a high ceiling, this diameter is better suited than the small two-light model.
