About this light

The Burford is a bathroom recessed spotlight with a white bezel: a round ring in lacquered aluminium, a flush clear glass and, behind it, a GU10 lampholder for a bulb of up to 10 W. Rated IP65, it withstands water jets and can be fitted where an ordinary spotlight cannot go. Its footprint remains small: 9 cm wide and 6 cm deep in the ceiling.

Description

White bezel and flush glass

Seen from below, the spotlight is just a smooth white ring, slightly domed towards the centre, and a clear glass window that lets you see the bulb. The white blends into a painted ceiling tile or plasterboard; the black version of the same model, by contrast, makes every light point stand out.

GU10 10 W, dimmer and IP65

The GU10 lampholder accepts a bulb of 10 W maximum, not included; choose a dimmable GU10 LED if you want to take advantage of the stated dimmer compatibility. The IP65 rating means the spotlight withstands water jets: it is suitable for the ceiling of a walk-in shower or above the bath, subject to the zones defined by the electrical standard, which your electrician will check. The British retailer also lists it as fire rated. Class II.

Recessed fitting: 9 cm wide, 6 cm high

The body measures 9 cm wide by 6 cm high and weighs 0.25 kg; allow sufficient ceiling void for this depth and for the connector. Allow roughly one spotlight per metre for even lighting.
