A smooth, transparent tulip glass
The glass rises vertically from the lampholder: narrow at the foot, it curves out into a belly, then opens gently towards the top. With no ribbing or frosting, it reveals the bulb and the fitting. Below, the moulded backplate, the angled arm and the finishing ball, in chrome-plated solid brass, gleam like bathroom taps. The whole fitting measures 30 cm high by 14 cm wide.
Clear light from a 40 W G9 bulb
The 40 W G9 bulb is included. The transparent glass filters almost nothing: the light is bright and direct, useful for a mirror, but the bare bulb can dazzle if placed at eye level. A frosted G9 LED limits this effect. The brightness is not dimmable. The IP44 rating allows installation next to the basin; Class I requires an earth connection.
In a pair, at shoulder height
With its tall glass, the Austen2 sits slightly lower than the Austen1: aim for the centre of the backplate at around 1.50 m, so that the bulb stays below eye level. The projection is 15.5 cm and the weight is 1.6 kg. Two wall lights flanking the mirror give symmetrical lighting of the face.
