About this light

The Hook wall light sets two horizontal glass tubes on either side of a square chrome block. The glass is frosted in the centre and clearer at the ends, letting a little more light filter out to the sides. A pull cord hangs below the block so you can switch it on without searching for the switch. At 37 cm wide, it lights a single mirror; its IP44 rating makes it suitable for the bathroom. Two E14 bulbs required.

Description

Two glass tubes on a chrome block

The central support, cubic and polished, carries a glass cylinder on the left and right, each closed by a chrome ring. The frosting covers most of the tube and becomes clearer towards the ends, hence the mix of clear and milky glass noted by the retailer. The pull cord chain hangs below the block.

Two E14, IP44 and a pull cord

Each tube houses an E14 lampholder accepting a maximum of 40 W; bulbs are sold separately. Filament LEDs in a tube or flame shape look great in this glass. The IP44 protection withstands the humidity and splashes of a washbasin: the wall light belongs above a basin, but not inside the shower cubicle or right beside the bath. The pull cord lets you switch it on without a wall switch nearby.

Dimensions and mounting height

Allow 37 cm in width, 12 cm in height and 7 cm of projection. Mounted above a single mirror, it lights the face from the front. Aim for a height of about 1.80 m at the centre of the wall light.
