Ashland Bay small lantern wall light 27.8 cm, zinc and bubbled glass

The smallest size of the Ashland Bay lantern

The same silhouette as the larger models, scaled down to 27.8 cm: a cylindrical glass dotted with bubbles, a domed cap, a cup-shaped base and a carrying ring on top. The aluminium has a subtly shaded, weathered grey zinc finish that gives the look of a lantern salvaged from an old boat. When lit, the bubbles in the glass create tiny points of light.

An E27 of up to 60 W, a gentle guiding light

An E27 lampholder takes a bulb of up to 60 W, to be purchased separately and chosen as dimmable if you connect it to a dimmer; a teardrop or flame-shaped filament LED suits the clear glass well. The light is not diffused: it carries far but dazzles when viewed head-on, so place the lantern above eye level. Thanks to its IP44 rating, it can stay outside on a wall exposed to showers.

27.8 cm high, 1.66 kg: discreet and light

At 27.8 cm high, 15.4 cm wide and projecting 17.3 cm, it weighs 1.66 kg and can be fixed to a solid wall, a pergola post or the upright of a shelter. Two of them frame a garden gate; a single one is enough to mark a house number.
