About this light

The long version of the Privé light bar: eight E14 lampholders along 80.5 cm of chrome bar, for a large mirror or a double basin. The principle is that of theatre dressing-room mirrors, with exposed, aligned bulbs and no glass in front. Install it above the mirror, outside any water splash zones, as its protection rating is IP20.

Description

Eight bulbs aligned along 80.5 cm

The bar is a flat chrome-plated metal profile, 4 cm high and 8 cm deep, which disappears behind the row of bulbs. The photo shows it fitted with opal globes, which create a line of eight soft points of light; you are free to screw in clear filament bulbs for a brighter result.

Front lighting for make-up or shaving

Each of the eight E14 caps takes a maximum of 40 W. Eight low-power LEDs are more than enough: the aim is to light the face from the front, without backlighting, not to illuminate the room. With an IP20 rating, this light is not protected against water: it is fitted above the basin mirror, never above the bath or near the shower.

For a wide mirror or two basins

At 80.5 cm, this bar suits a mirror at least 80 cm wide, or a vanity unit with two basins beneath a single large mirror. Mount it centred on the mirror, just above its edge, so that the bulbs are reflected without dazzling. For a narrower mirror, the six-light version is better proportioned.
