A bubble glass globe on a black stem
The clear glass sphere is scattered with tiny bubbles trapped in the glass. A black steel ring encircles it at mid-height and connects it to a slender stem that extends well below the fixing point. The round backplate is fixed to the wall halfway along the stem. The globe is 15.6 cm in diameter and the whole fitting projects 19 cm.
The light of a bare E14 bulb
An E14 lampholder accepts a bulb of up to 40 W. The bulb is not supplied: choose a filament LED in a flame or teardrop shape, visible through the glass, in a warm tone for faces at the mirror, and dimmable if you connect the wall light to a dimmer, which it accepts. The bubble glass scatters the light into small sparkles on the wall. The wall light is IP44 and Class I: connected to earth, it withstands the steam and splashes of a washbasin, but must not be installed within the shower zone.
Mounting height next to the mirror
At 40.3 cm high, it is mounted as a pair to the left and right of the mirror, with the globe at eye level, around 1.60 m from the floor. It weighs 1.02 kg and lights a hallway or bedroom just as well.
