The frosted white glass shade carries a pattern of lighter fronds, which stands out most once the light is on. In the centre, a small steel-finish nut holds the glass on its metal backplate. The pattern stays discreet by day and gains depth in the evening.

Two E14 bulbs behind the glass

You will need two E14 bulbs of 40 W maximum, bought separately. The opal glass softens the light and hides the light sources; an E14 LED bulb in 2700 or 3000 K gives a soft glow. Its IP20 rating makes it suitable for dry rooms: bedroom, living room, hallway. Class II: double insulation, no earth wire.

Flush to the ceiling, 1 kg to fix

Against the ceiling, it drops only 13 cm, which makes it useful under a low ceiling or in front of a wardrobe door. Centre it in a bedroom or hallway; for a larger room, the three-light Blad 43 version uses the same pattern.
