About this light

Ceiling light with an etched opal glass shade, banded in antique nickel and carried on three curved arms beneath a round ceiling plate. This semi-flush light is 40.6 cm wide and leaves a gap between the glass and the ceiling, so part of the light is cast upwards. It suits a bedroom, dining room or study with a classic character.

Description

Etched shade and crook arms

The white, finely etched opal glass shade sits in a flat steel band in an antique nickel finish, a patinated grey with silvery highlights. Three curved arms connect it to a short stem and a moulded ceiling plate; below, a turned finial completes the fitting.

Diffused light in both directions

Inside, three E27 lampholders take bulbs of up to 60 W, not included with delivery. The opal glass softens the light towards the room, while the opening at the top sends part of the light up to the ceiling. It works with a dimmer. Its IP20 rating restricts it to rooms without damp.

Height and fixing

Allow 30.5 cm between the ceiling and the bottom of the finial: with ceilings under 2.40 m, it is best placed above a table or bed rather than in a walkway. The light weighs 4.32 kg and is connected with an earth (Class I).
