About this light

A garden bollard light with a glass globe, the black Caris stands 82 cm tall: a black metal post on a base, topped with a clear ball 20 cm in diameter. It is the floor-standing version of the Caris wall light. The E27 bulb is not included and remains visible inside the globe. It marks out a path, a garden entrance, the edge of a terrace or a flower bed.

Description

Black post and clear globe

The black metal shaft, set on a round base, carries a cylindrical sleeve and the clear glass globe at its top. At 82 cm high, the bollard rises above most borders and low flower beds, while staying below eye level. Its simple design suits the garden of an older house just as well as a modern courtyard.

Choosing the E27 bulb

The E27 lampholder takes a 40 W bulb, to be bought separately. As the glass does not diffuse the light, the shape of the bulb is visible: choose an LED filament model, or a frosted globe bulb if the bollard lines a busy walkway. A colour temperature of around 2700 K remains soft in a garden. Thanks to its IP44 rating, the bollard withstands rain and can be installed in the open.

Ground installation

The bollard weighs 1.5 kg. Fix its base to a paving slab or a concrete block, and bring in a buried 230 V cable with earth (Class I). For a path, space the bollards roughly 4 to 5 m apart; for an entrance, one bollard on each side of the gate is enough.
