Victorian globe on a turned stand
The stand stacks rings, a cavetto groove and a flared round base, in the manner of a baluster. Above it, the clear bubbled glass sphere is held by uprights and a band pierced with windows; a small finial crowns the whole. The stand and frame, in aluminium, receive the Londonderry finish, a dark grey.
Three light sources to mark an entrance
Three E14 lampholders, 40 W maximum each, bulbs not included. Three LED flame bulbs are enough to light a gate and its surroundings; if you choose dimmable ones, they can be adjusted with a dimmer. The IP44 rating allows it to stay outdoors in the rain, but not under the direct jet of an automatic sprinkler. Class I: make sure the supply includes an earth conductor.
Mounting on a pillar or low wall
With a diameter of 30.5 cm, it can be seen from afar. Allow for a flat surface at least as wide as the base and a power supply centred beneath the stand. Its 2.7 kg remains modest: a screw fixing stops it from tipping over in strong wind. 3-year guarantee against corrosion, according to the manufacturer.
