About this light

This opal globe garden lantern sets a white sphere on a small flared black base. Standing 30 cm high, it fixes onto a gate pillar, a low wall, a step or the edge of a wooden terrace. It is the standing version of the Orb Lanterns wall light: same globe, same black crown, without the wall arm or scroll.

Description

A globe set on a tulip-shaped base

The black metal foot widens at the base for a stable seat and narrows beneath a crown that holds the globe. The lampshade is made of PMMA, white on the outside as well as the inside: it fully conceals the bulb and shows only a glowing ball. The retailer mentions a black powder-coated finish with a ribbed effect.

E27 bulb, fixed light

An E27 bulb is required and is not included. The light cannot be dimmed: connect the lantern to a simple switch or a timer. With its IP44 rating, it can stay outdoors all year round in the rain, provided water does not stand around the base. A warm white LED is enough to mark out an access point.

Where to place it

At 30 cm high, 22 cm in diameter and 0.81 kg, the lantern is compact enough for the top of a pillar or low wall, and the retailer also intends it for a wooden terrace. Screw the base onto a flat surface and bring the cable in from underneath, in the centre.
