Stout base and clear glass

Thick hot-dip galvanised steel, left raw. The short cylindrical base rests on a drilled plate for fixing; above it, the clear polycarbonate glass is wrapped in bands and topped with a wide flat cap, white on its inner face.

Light on a pillar

An E27 bulb up to 60 W, not included, lights the top of the pillar and the way through. IP54 rating: resistant to rain and dust, it can stay outdoors all year round. Class II, so no earth wire is needed. To adjust the light, connect it to a dimmer with a dimmable bulb.

Space needed on top of the wall

The lantern measures 27 cm at its widest point, at the level of the cap: check that the top of the pillar offers a flat surface for the base. Weighing 2.26 kg, it is fixed with wall plugs into the masonry; plan for the cable to come up through the centre of the pillar.
