About this light

An outdoor pedestal lantern, the Turin Grande sits on top of a gate pillar, a low wall or outdoor steps. Its baluster stem rests on a square base and carries a 30 cm wide lantern, for a total height of 64 cm. A format that stands out clearly from the street, at the entrance to a property.

Description

Square base, baluster stem

The stepped square base widens beneath a curved stem, topped by the four-sided lantern. The pyramid roof ends in a small lantern cupola with a knob finial. The panes are clear polycarbonate, and the structure is die-cast aluminium with a black polyester powder-coated finish.

Light for a property entrance

It takes an E27 bulb of up to 60 W, not supplied. A clear filament LED remains visible through the panes and recalls gas lighting. With its IP54 rating, the lantern withstands the rain and dust of a pillar exposed to every wind. Class II, no earth wire.

Fitting on a pillar or low wall

You will need a flat pillar top at least as wide as the base, and a cable outlet in the centre. At 3.94 kg, secure the base to the masonry with suitable wall plugs. On two gate pillars, a pair of lanterns marks the entrance symmetrically. This size suits fairly substantial pillars; for a narrow low wall, the standard Turin is better in scale.
