Large Riverwood wall lantern in weathered zinc, bubble glass, 49.7 cm

Large aged aluminium lantern

A rectangular backplate carries a bracket whose hook holds the lantern by its ring. The clear bubble glass cylinder is held between a generously overhanging flat cap and a low ring. The weathered zinc finish gives the aluminium the look of raw metal, dark grey and lightly marbled.

E27 bulb, 100 W maximum

A single E27 lampholder accepts up to 100 W. No bulb is supplied: in such a large volume, a big filament bulb such as a globe or Edison fills the glass well. Choose a 2700 K colour temperature for a soft light. IP44 rating: rain and splashes will not stop it, so it can be fitted to an exposed wall. Class I, with earth connection.

Allow for a solid wall

The lantern projects 30.9 cm and weighs 3.2 kg: fix it into solid masonry, using suitable wall plugs. On a large façade, two lanterns can frame a double door or a porch. Leave room above for the cap and the bracket.
