Bakerloo outdoor wall light, black rectangular lantern with clear glass

Glazed cast aluminium box

The black cast aluminium structure forms a vertical rectangular box, enclosed by clear glass panels. The lampholder, also black, is fixed to the back plate, in the centre of the box. Nothing hides the light source: the choice of bulb matters as much as the choice of lantern.

E27 cap and dimming

The lantern takes a 10 W E27 bulb. It is rated as compatible with a dimmer; in that case choose a dimmable LED. An amber filament bulb gives a glow close to a flame, while a clear 2700 K LED lights a lock or steps better. The IP44 rating protects it from splashing water and rain, ideally under an eave or a porch.

Dimensions for an entrance

25 cm high, 12 cm wide and projecting 13 cm: it fits neatly beside a narrow door. Its weight of 1.45 kg calls for wall plugs suited to the surface. Mounted at around 1.70 m, it lights the threshold without dazzling.
