A patinated street lamp post

The slender post is punctuated with moulded rings and rests on a hexagonal base. At the top sits the Chicago lantern: scalloped cap, finial and a tulip globe in clear, textured blown glass. The retailer describes a hand-applied rusty bronze patina in coppery brown tones.

A light source at the top of the post

E27 lampholder, 100 W maximum, bulb to be purchased separately. Perched at the top of the post, the lantern lights a wider area than a bollard light; a clear 2700 K LED is suitable. Rated IP44, it can stay outside in the rain all year round. With a dimmable bulb, a dimmer can be used to adjust the brightness. Class I: an earth connection is required.

Anchoring and weight

28 cm in diameter and 6.53 kg for a post of this height: a solid anchoring is essential, preferably on a concrete foundation. Run the power supply through buried ducting and have the connection made by an electrician. Keep it away from low branches.
