A cast aluminium street lamp

The post and lantern are made of die-cast aluminium painted black; the manufacturer states a 10-year warranty against corrosion. The base combines a solid pedestal with a hexagonal foot. At the top, the square lantern keeps its four clear glass panes, its rounded-sided roof and its finial.

A light source above head height

Placed high up, the E27 bulb (60 W maximum, to be purchased separately) spreads light over a wider circle than a bollard light. For a courtyard, a 2700 K LED gives a soft light. The floor lamp can be connected to a dimmer; in that case, choose a dimmable bulb. IP44 protects the floor lamp from rain and splashes; only jets from a garden hose should be avoided.

Weight and anchoring

The floor lamp weighs 6.93 kg and is 20.5 cm in diameter. A concrete foundation with threaded rods holds a post of this height firmly against the wind. Embed the electrical conduit in the concrete before pouring and connect the earth, as the fitting is Class I.
