About this light

This lantern garden floor lamp stands 116.5 cm tall: the height of a small column, marking out a path or the edge of a terrace without dominating the planting. The straight cast aluminium post in antique bronze, set on a hexagonal base, carries a Philadelphia lantern in champagne glass, lit by an E27 bulb.

Description

Moulded post and champagne glass lantern

The slender post, punctuated by moulded rings, widens at its base into a six-sided plinth. The lantern at the top echoes the 1900s styling of the range: finial, ornate cornice, sculpted handles. The champagne-tinted glass, with its rippled surface, colours the light. The antique bronze patina of the cast aluminium, almost black, retains coppery highlights.

An E27 bulb for path lighting

E27 cap, 60 W maximum, bulb to be purchased separately. Choose a warm-toned LED, which uses little power if the floor lamp stays on all evening. On a circuit fitted with a dimmer, it can be softened with a dimmable LED. IP44 protected, it withstands rain in the middle of the garden. Class I appliance, to be connected to earth.

Floor mounting: 3.51 kg, 19 cm diameter

Allow for a concrete pad or slab to secure the base, and a cable buried in conduit. Along a path, space several floor lamps a few metres apart for even lighting. Its lantern stays below eye level, which limits glare.
