Wilmslow black Victorian garden floor lamp, glass lantern, 330 cm
About this light
This black Victorian garden floor lamp recalls the silhouette of English street lamps: a tall post in cast aluminium and steel, a horizontal crossbar below the head and a square lantern glazed with clear glass. At 330 cm high, it lights a driveway, a courtyard or a building entrance, and can be spotted from afar after dark.
Guarantees and services
A cast aluminium street lamp in 19th-century style
The square-based lantern carries a four-sided roof, topped with a finial and edged with small scrolls at each corner. Its four clear glass sides reveal the bulb. It rests on a basket of curved rods, set on top of a long black shaft. Below the head, the crossbar recalls the ladder rest used by lamplighters; at the bottom, the foot widens into a moulded base.
E27 bulb and rain resistance
The E27 lampholder accepts a bulb of up to 60 W, not supplied; dimming is possible with a dimmable bulb. We recommend a 2700 K filament LED, which keeps the look of an old-fashioned lamp behind the clear glass. The IP23 rating means the head withstands rain, even at an angle, but not jets of water from a sprinkler or a pressure washer.
Installing a 15 kg post
Weighing 15 kg with a diameter of 58.5 cm, the floor lamp needs a solid anchorage: allow for a concrete foundation. An access door in the post makes wiring easier. Class I appliance, to be earthed: leave the trenching and connection to an electrician.
