About this light

This black garden lantern is the head only from the Wilmslow range, supplied without post or base: it fits on top of a post or lighting column. At 82.5 cm high, it creates a raised point of light beside a path or in the middle of a courtyard, with the silhouette of an English street lamp with a pointed roof.

Description

Victorian street lamp head

Square lantern with four clear glass panes, topped with a roof with curved sides and a large turned finial; each corner ends in a small crook. Beneath the base, four lyre-shaped rods converge on a socket ring. It is made of cast aluminium and steel, in a black finish.

Lampholder and protection

The lantern takes one E27 bulb of up to 60 W, not supplied: a warm white filament LED is suitable. It can be used with a dimmer, provided the bulb is also dimmable. The IP23 rating protects it from rain, but not from water jets.

Mounting on top of a post

The head measures 38.5 cm in diameter and weighs 8.96 kg: the post must be able to support it. The diameter of the socket ring is not specified: have your installer check that it fits the top of your post before ordering. Positioned high up, it lights a wider area than a low bollard light. Class I appliance, to be earthed.
