The Strand model fitted with a sensor
You will recognise the silhouette of the range: round backplate, short stem, cylindrical stainless steel body and a transparent cone topped with a slightly domed metal disc. The difference is at the bottom of the body, where a small round sensor watches for movement in front of the façade. The polycarbonate cone leaves the bulb visible.
Switching on as you pass and choosing the bulb
The light comes on when someone walks by, handy when coming home with your arms full or for lighting a corner of the garden. The E27 bulb (60 W maximum) is to be purchased separately; an opal glass LED reduces glare through the clear cone. Rated IP44, the wall light withstands showers and water splashes: an exposed façade, porch or carport all suit it. It is Class I, with an earth connection.
Wall mounting and sensor position
The wall light measures 18 cm wide with a 22 cm projection and weighs 0.7 kg. Mount it at about 1.80 m from the ground, facing the area people walk through, and avoid letting it see the street or a tree swaying in the wind, to limit unnecessary activations.
