Vertical carriage lantern silhouette
The lantern rests on an arm extending from a cut-out backplate, finished at the bottom with a decorative point. The square black cast aluminium body is topped with a four-sided roof and a slender finial. Its wavy glass panes, rounded at the top, soften the light and hide the bulb.
Lighting and protection
The E27 lampholder accepts 60 W maximum; the bulb is to be purchased separately, and is dimmable if you fit a dimmer. Choose an LED in 2700 or 3000 K to keep a yellow light in this glass. As the bulb sits above the bracket, light also travels upwards and washes the wall. Its IP23 rating only protects against water falling at less than 60° from the vertical: install it under an overhanging roof or a porch.
Dimensions and installation
Allow 43.5 cm in height, 18.5 cm in width and 23 cm projection, for 1.65 kg. Fix the backplate so that the top of the roof sits at about 2 m, roughly level with a door lintel. Class I luminaire, earthed. According to the manufacturer, the cast aluminium is guaranteed for 5 years against corrosion.
