Black cast aluminium hanging lantern

The cylindrical body is surrounded by cast aluminium arabesques that form openwork S-shapes in front of the transparent glass. Beneath the conical cap, the lantern hangs from the arm like a coaching inn lantern. The wall backplate, with its fleuron-cut ends, echoes the vocabulary of English ironwork.

An E27 under clear glass, sheltered from the rain

The E27 lampholder takes a bulb of up to 60 W, not supplied, and accepts a dimmer if the bulb is dimmable. As the glass is transparent, the bulb is visible: a 2700 K filament LED gives a result close to a flame. The IP23 rating protects against rain falling up to 60° from the vertical, but not against spray from the side: choose a wall sheltered by eaves or a porch. Class I, must be earthed.

Dimensions and mounting height

At 31 cm high, 15 cm wide and projecting 21 cm, it stays in scale with an ordinary front door and weighs 1.37 kg. Position it at about 1.70 to 1.80 m from the ground; two wall lights on either side of the door light the threshold without casting shadows.
