Crook arm and glazing bars

The arm extends from a wall plate with finial-shaped ends and curves into a crook above the cap. The lantern hangs from it: a conical cap with a wide rim, a clear glass cylinder, and a frame of vertical uprights and a horizontal crossbar that divides the glazing into small panes. The whole fitting is made of black cast aluminium.

IP43 rating and E27 bulb

The first digit, 4, means the fitting is protected against solid objects larger than 1 mm; the second, 3, indicates protection against rain falling at up to 60° from the vertical. A wall under an overhanging roof or a porch remains the best location. The E27 lampholder accepts up to 60 W, bulb not included; a low-wattage LED is enough for a doorstep, and a dimmable LED allows the use of a dimmer. Earthed connection (Class I).

29.4 cm high, 22.1 cm projection

15 cm wide and weighing 1.31 kg, it is fixed to a solid wall. Next to a door, position it so that the lantern sits just above eye level; for a garage door, one wall light on each side spreads the light better.
