Bubbled glass in a gridded frame

In the photo, the glass cylinder is dotted with fine bubbles, in the manner of lanterns of old. Vertical uprights and a crossbar in black cast aluminium divide it into panes, beneath a conical cap with an overhanging rim. The lantern hangs from an arm that ends in a crook, fixed to a backplate with cut-out edges.

Light towards the doorstep, IP43 protection

Hanging beneath its arm, the lantern places the bulb low enough to light the doorstep and steps. It takes an E27 bulb up to 60 W, to be bought separately; behind this glass, a filament LED remains pleasant to look at, and a dimmable model allows the use of a dimmer. IP43 protects it against small foreign objects and slanting rain: install it under an overhanging roof rather than on a gable battered by the weather. Class I.

A more generous size

At 20 cm wide with a 24 cm projection, it suits large doors and tall façades, where a small wall light would look lost. It weighs 1.85 kg: screw the backplate into a solid wall, using wall plugs suited to masonry.
