Mansion House outdoor wall light, antique brass half-lantern 37.5 cm
About this light
This antique brass outdoor wall lantern echoes the shape of English façade lanterns: a half-lantern fixed flat to the wall, wider at the top than at the bottom, topped with a pierced dome. At 37.5 cm high and with a single E27 lampholder, it suits a front door, a porch or a garage wall. Its golden-brown patina goes well with brick and stone.
Guarantees and services
Patinated solid brass and three clear glass panes
The body is made of solid brass with an antique brass finish; the British retailer states that it is hand-crafted and then waxed. The photo shows three clear glass sides, a band pierced with diamond shapes beneath the roof and a dome studded with small holes. The flat back sits flush against the façade.
An E27 bulb visible behind the glass
The E27 lampholder takes a bulb of up to 60 W, to be purchased separately. A dimmer can be used, provided the bulb itself is dimmable. As the glass is clear, the bulb is visible: a pear-shaped or tubular filament LED keeps the look of an old-fashioned lantern. Its IP44 rating protects it from rain, on an exposed façade as well as under a canopy.
Fitted on either side of a door
It measures 37.5 cm high by 22 cm wide and projects just 12 cm from the wall, which makes it discreet in a narrow passage. It weighs 2.7 kg. Plan on a pair, one on each side of the door, with the top of the lantern roughly level with the lintel, that is about 1.80 to 2 m above the ground.
