A half lantern with a mirror finish

Solid brass body, nickel-plated and polished, with a stainless steel backplate: the English supplier describes it as handmade then waxed. This bright, silvery finish picks up reflections of the facade and the sky, where antique brass absorbs the light. You will find the perforated domed roof, the band cut with almond-shaped motifs and the three flat glass panes held by slim glazing bars.

Bulb and exposure to the weather

No bulb is supplied: the E27 lampholder accepts up to 60 W. A clear bulb makes the metal sparkle, while an opal bulb softens the glare if the lantern is at eye level. The light can be dimmed with a dimmer and a compatible bulb. IP44 rating: rain and splashes are no problem, which allows installation on a wall without an overhanging roof.

Measurements and mounting height

At 37.5 cm high and 22 cm wide, it is a medium-sized lantern, and its 12 cm projection keeps it out of the way of shoulders in a narrow passage. Allow for 2.7 kg when fixing to a solid wall. Near a service door or above a letterbox, place it at head height, around 1.80 m.
