Sheldon antique nickel outdoor wall light, flat gooseneck shade
About this light
An antique nickel gooseneck outdoor wall light, the Sheldon takes its cue from the fisherman's lamp: a wide, flat shade above a clear glass dome, at the end of a curved arm. Its weathered metal-grey finish suits a stone façade, timber cladding or grey joinery. It takes an E27 bulb and projects 37 cm from the wall.
Guarantees and services
Curved arm and fisherman's shade
A round backplate holds a tubular arm that rises and then drops back down in a gooseneck. It carries a cylindrical neck, then an almost flat, widely flared shade covering a clear glass dome. The body is solid brass; its antique nickel finish, a softly satin grey with slight variations in tone, is waxed and, according to the retailer, continues to develop a patina over time.
Light directed towards the ground
The shade directs the light down towards the ground and the doorstep, without dazzling from the front. The E27 lampholder accepts a maximum of 100 W; no bulb is supplied. Choose a filament bulb if you want it to be visible through the glass. The IP44 rating allows it to be used on a façade exposed to showers. Class I: the earth wire must be connected.
Dimensions on the façade
It measures 24 cm high, 29.5 cm wide and projects 37 cm, and weighs 2.1 kg. This projection calls for a clear wall: avoid a narrow passage where people brush against the façade. Above a garage door or beside the entrance, allow about 2 m from the ground to the bottom of the shade.
