Hand-crafted solid brass

According to the British retailer, the Sheldon is hand-made from solid brass and then waxed; the supplier describes an antique brass finish. This finish is not fixed: exposed to the air, it gradually takes on a deeper patina. It has the signature look of the range: round backplate, curved arm, cylindrical neck and a wide flat shade above a clear glass dome.

24 cm high, 37 cm projection

The light weighs 1.94 kg and is 29.5 cm wide. Its 37 cm projection places the shade well forward of the wall, which directs light onto the ground in front of the door. Fit it at about 1.80 to 2 m high, centred above the entrance or offset to one side.

E27 bulb and installation on an exposed wall

A single E27 lampholder, 60 W maximum, bulb to be purchased separately; it can be used with a dimmer if the bulb is dimmable. A warm white filament-style LED goes well with the glow of the brass. Thanks to its IP44 rating, the light withstands rain and can illuminate an uncovered wall. It is Class I and must be connected to earth.
