A cottage lantern fitted with a sensor
Square base, curved roof and pointed finial: the lantern follows the shape of the other Wexford wall lights. Each side has five pieces of glass joined with lead by hand, according to the retailer, in a diamond pattern. The black patina of the cast aluminium lightens to silver on the raised details. What changes is the wall bracket, which is more substantial and houses the infrared (PIR) sensor.
Automatic switching on
The sensor's range and the lighting duration are not specified. The E27 lampholder takes a bulb of up to 60 W, to be supplied by you; the supplier also states that it is compatible with a dimmer. With a sensor, choose an LED, which gives its full light as soon as it switches on. IP44 rating: rain and splashes do not affect the wall light, but a jet of water directed at it would.
Where to fit it
It projects 27.8 cm, is 15.9 cm wide and weighs 2.16 kg. Point it towards the approach path so that the sensor sees visitors coming, and fix it at around 1.80 m so that it overlooks the walkway. Class I, connection with earth.
