Wexford hanging lantern outdoor wall light in black and silver, 37 cm

A lantern hung beneath a wall bracket

The arm springs from a cut-out backplate and curves down to carry the lantern by its roof. This four-sided curved roof bears a decorative finial above the point of attachment. On each side, five pieces of transparent rippled glass, hand-set in lead according to the retailer, form a lightly tinted diamond. The cast aluminium has a black patina, with silver rubbed onto the edges.

Light falls towards the threshold

The E27 bulb, 60 W maximum, sits in the lantern beneath the arm: it is not supplied; with a dimmable bulb, a dimmer can lower the intensity. As the light is directed downwards, a warm white LED is enough to light a lock or a step. Rated IP23, it withstands slanting rain but not splashes: ideally install it under an overhanging roof.

Fixing and dimensions

1.89 kg, 15.9 cm wide and 28.6 cm deep. As the lantern hangs below its fixing, mount the backplate higher than for an upright wall light, at around 2.10 m, so that the bottom stays out of reach of heads. Class I appliance, earthed.
