Scrolls, beading and foliage
The vertical backplate carries a finial at its top; a crook-shaped arm extends from it to hold the lantern. The cap is edged with beading, the uprights are decorated with leaves and medallions, and a pointed finial finishes the bottom. The tulip-shaped glass is streaked with fine vertical ribs that multiply the reflections. On the aluminium, the oxidised bronze finish, a patinated dark brown, is guaranteed by the manufacturer for 3 years against corrosion.
An E27 light source behind ribbed glass
An E27 lampholder up to 60 W; the bulb is purchased separately and, if dimmable, can be adjusted with a dimmer. The ribbed glass breaks up the light: a clear filament bulb produces plenty of reflections, while an opaque LED gives a more even glow. The IP44 rating allows installation on a façade exposed to rain, next to a door or under a canopy.
A projection of 27.9 cm to plan for
The lantern projects 27.9 cm and is 22.9 cm wide; check that a door or opening shutter will not hit it. It weighs 2.97 kg. Next to a door, place its bottom at around 1.60 m from the ground: the lantern stays above head height without causing glare.
