About this light

Medium version of the Newbury outdoor wall lantern, in polished brass and bevelled glass. At 35.6 cm high, it suits a standard front door, a garage door or a terrace wall. A single E27 lampholder sits at the centre of the cage, hung from a curved arm that extends from an octagonal backplate.

Description

Glass cage and scrolled arm

The lantern hangs by a ring beneath a curved brass arm, screwed to an eight-sided wall plate. Its domed cap sits above a crown of slanted panes, then a rounded body enclosed in bevelled glass. The polished brass uprights follow every edge of the glass.

An E27 lampholder to be fitted with a bulb

A single E27 cap, 60 W maximum, bulb to be purchased separately; it can be dimmed with a dimmable LED. An E27 LED globe or filament bulb in 2700 K gives a light close to that of the old incandescent bulb. With its IP44 rating, the lantern withstands the rain and damp of a façade; choose a sheltered wall if you want to limit marks on the glass.

Dimensions and wall fixing

It measures 20.3 cm wide and projects 20.3 cm from the wall. Its weight remains modest: 1.47 kg. Class I, so an earth wire must be connected. Mounted at about 1.70 m from the ground, beside the door, it lights up the lock and the faces of visitors.
