A lantern hanging from its bracket
The Sandown takes its design from old façade lanterns: a curved arm, springing from a round backplate, holds it from the top. The black cast aluminium cap, wide and slightly conical, carries a dome ending in a finial. Beneath it, the clear polycarbonate diffuser curves round and finishes in a small point.
E27 bulb under the cap
The lampholder accepts a 60 W E27 bulb, not supplied with the lantern. The bulb remains visible behind the clear diffuser: a 2700 K filament LED keeps the look of an old-fashioned lamp. If used with a dimmer, choose a dimmable bulb. The cap directs the light down towards the threshold and the steps. The IP44 rating allows installation on a façade exposed to rain, under a porch or against a gate pillar.
Allow for a 23 cm projection
At 25.5 cm high and 17.7 cm wide, the lantern projects 23 cm from the wall: check that it does not obstruct a shutter or the opening of a door. Placed beside the frame, slightly above eye level, it lights the lock without dazzling. Class I: earth connection required.
