About this light

Black outdoor lantern wall light in a half-section design: the classic shape of a porch lantern, flattened against the wall, with three clear glass panes and a moulded cap. A motion sensor sits at the base of the light. At 36 cm high, it sits beside the door of an period home or a country-style house. The E27 bulb is not included.

Description

Black cast aluminium half lantern

The black cast aluminium body echoes the mouldings of a traditional lantern: a pitched roof, slender uprights, a rounded pediment at the top and a pointed finial at the bottom. The clear glass panes show off the bulb, which becomes part of the decor. The flat back fits against the wall, projecting only 10 cm and measuring 17 cm wide.

E27 bulb and motion detection

The E27 lampholder takes a 60 W bulb; none is supplied. As the glass is clear, choose a 2700 K filament LED: it keeps the look of an old-fashioned bulb. The small sensor visible at the bottom, indicated by the PIR mention in the reference, switches the light on as you approach. The IP44 rating protects it from rain and splashes, under a porch or on an open wall.

On each side of the door

A lantern on either side of the entrance, with the top at about 1.90 m from the ground, gives symmetrical lighting and highlights the door. Class I: an earth connection must be provided.
