Bologna black garden wall light, clear globe hanging from a bracket arm

Clear globe under a black bracket

Moulded backplate, straight arm reinforced by a scrolled console, finial at the end: the black aluminium structure borrows the codes of old street furniture. The clear polycarbonate globe hangs beneath the bracket, held by a black barred crown that covers its upper part.

Lighting and protection

A single E27 lampholder at the centre of the globe, for 60 W maximum; the bulb is sold separately. As the globe is clear, choose a warm-toned filament LED, 2700 K for example, which is more pleasant to look at. The IP54 rating allows use in the rain, on an exposed façade, and protects it from dust. Class II: double insulation, no earth wire to connect. A dimmer can be fitted to the circuit, with a dimmable bulb.

Projection and weight

The light measures 40 cm high and 25 cm wide, and weighs 1.76 kg. As the globe hangs below the arm, position the backplate high enough, around 2 m, so that nobody bumps into it when passing. Check that the wall can take suitable wall plugs for this overhang.
