Finial, moulded cap and bubbled glass shade

At the top, a turned finial crowns a cap with several mouldings. Below, the glass shade curves out between slim uprights, then narrows onto a foot connected to an S-shaped arm. The rectangular wall plate has a beaded border. The aluminium is finished in aged bronze with slightly coppery edges, and the clear glass is flecked with bubbles.

Lighting for a secondary door

The lantern takes one E27 bulb of up to 60 W, sold separately, and can be controlled with a dimmer if the bulb is dimmable. An amber filament LED enhances the old-fashioned lantern look; a clear 3000 K LED lights a lock or a few steps better. Its IP44 rating means it can take the rain without damage, on an exposed wall or under a canopy.

A 41.5 cm by 18.5 cm format

At 18.5 cm wide, 23.8 cm projection and 1.33 kg, the lantern does not obstruct passage along a narrow path. Fix it at about 1.70 m above the ground next to the door, or above a letterbox to make the name and number easy to read.
