Description

The brass ship's lantern

The rounded clear glass globe, dotted with bubbles, is protected by hoops and a metal band. It is topped with a tiered cap pierced with small vents, extended by a ring attached to a crook arm. The backplate is rectangular. The aluminium body has a natural brass finish with brownish highlights.

Bulb and IP44 rating

An E27 lampholder, 60 W maximum; the bulb is to be purchased separately. A filament globe bulb, clearly visible through the bubbled glass, enhances the ship's lamp effect. The light can be dimmed using a dimmer if the bulb is dimmable. IP44 protects it from the weather, including a façade exposed to wind and rain. Class I, earthing required.

Proportions of the large model

51 cm high, 28 cm wide, 31 cm projection and 1.62 kg. Reserve it for a wide front door, a garage door or a high wall; on a single door, the medium version is often better proportioned.
