Hereford black lantern outdoor ceiling light with scrolls, 26 cm

Scrollwork lantern fixed under a ceiling plate

The Hereford lantern is fixed directly to the ceiling: a circular plate, a short stem, then the conical cap and the glazed cylinder. The cast aluminium scrolls form openwork S shapes in front of the clear glass, and the base of the lantern is openwork too.

E27 bulb and use in sheltered spots

An E27 lampholder takes up to 60 W; the bulb is not included. The ceiling light can be controlled with a dimmer, provided you fit a dimmable bulb. For a front door, a 2700 K to 3000 K LED gives a light close to that of an incandescent bulb. The IP23 rating protects the lantern from rain falling at an angle of up to 60°, which suits a porch or canopy ceiling, away from direct splashes. Class I, must be earthed.

Low ceiling height

26 cm high, 15 cm in diameter and 1.04 kg: it stays light and compact. Under a low canopy, check that at least 2 m of clearance remains below the lantern. Centre it in front of the door, or line up several along a covered gallery.
