About this light

This bronze outdoor ceiling light echoes the shape of an old-fashioned lantern, sitting snug against the ceiling: a moulded hexagonal cast aluminium frame holds a textured white glass shade, finished with a small finial. At just 16 cm deep, it suits a porch, a canopy or a covered entrance with a low ceiling.

Description

Moulded hexagonal frame and white glass shade

The body is cast aluminium in an antique bronze finish with dark highlights. Its stepped edges form a hexagon from which a domed shade in textured white glass hangs. The glass softens the glare of the bulbs and limits dazzle when you look up towards the entrance. A turned knob closes the underside of the shade.

Two E27 lampholders and IP44 protection

The ceiling light takes two E27 bulbs of up to 40 W each, sold separately. It is compatible with a dimmer: in that case choose LEDs stated as dimmable. Its IP44 rating protects it from rain and splashes, for installation under a porch, a roof overhang or in a sheltered entrance. For a soft light at the doorstep, a 2700 K LED is a good choice.

Flush fitting under a canopy

The light measures 26 cm in diameter by 16 cm high, weighs 1.62 kg and mounts directly against the ceiling. It is Class I: an earth connection is mandatory. Centre it above the doorstep to light both the door and the steps.
