Galvanised steel, rounded glass and horizontal bars
The front plate is made of galvanised steel: a grey, matt surface with a slightly speckled sheen, mounted on a cast aluminium back plate. The clear glass forms a curved pane; two parallel bars hold it in place and draw a horizontal line at mid-height. Behind the glass, the lampholder and its reflector remain visible.
Which bulb, which protection
The light takes a 60 W E27 bulb, to be purchased separately. A clear globe or filament LED keeps the effect of the clear glass; if you choose a dimmable one, the wall light can be connected to a dimmer. IP54 rating: driving rain and dust cannot get in, so it can be installed uncovered on an exposed wall. Class I appliance, to be connected to the earth wire.
Wall mounting on either side of an entrance
Allow 21 cm in width and 12 cm of projection once the wall light is fixed. At 3.46 kg, use wall plugs suited to the wall material. Above a service door, centre it over the opening; on either side of an entrance, a pair of Basel lights at the same height frames the door nicely.
