Thick frosted glass on a stainless steel plate

The thick frosted glass diffuser, with rounded corners, covers almost the whole square plate. Its opaque surface evens out the light and lets only a pale glow show through at the centre. Two steel-coloured bands cross it at mid-height, held by a side knob. The front plate is stainless steel, the back plate cast aluminium.

Diffused light for the entrance

E27 lampholder for a 60 W bulb, not included. The frosted glass accepts a standard bulb with no visible filament: a 2700 K LED suits a soft welcome, a 3000 K one gives crisper lighting. With a dimmable LED, the wall light can be controlled by a dimmer. IP54 protection: dust and splashes are kept out, so it can be installed in an exposed position. Class I, to be connected to earth.

Dimensions of the frosted Bern

The housing measures 24.5 cm high and wide and projects 12 cm. It weighs 3.24 kg: on insulating render, allow for long wall plugs. Above a door, centre it just above the lintel to light the threshold without glare.
