About this light

A black square outdoor ceiling light, this flat Lofoten model mounts under a canopy, a porch or the ceiling of a covered terrace. Its glazed housing, framed by slim black profiles, projects just 14 cm: it suits low roof overhangs. The clear glass reveals the two E27 lampholders; bulbs are to be chosen separately.

Description

Square glazed housing, low profile

A black square backplate carries a shallow box made of electro-galvanised, powder-coated steel, closed by clear safety glass on the sides and underneath. The black edges form a crisp square when seen from below. This is the flat version of the Lofoten range, lower than the cube ceiling light from the same family.

E27 bulbs and sheltered use

The ceiling light takes two E27 bulbs of up to 60 W each, sold separately; two warm white LEDs light a doorstep or a terrace table without harsh glare. Thanks to its IP44 rating, it withstands damp and splashes: install it under a porch roof, a carport or a covered pergola. Class II.

Ceiling fixing

Mounted flush against the surface, it is 14 cm high and 30.5 cm across, and weighs 4.15 kg. Centre it above the front door or in the middle of the canopy to spread the light evenly. It is dimmable when used with dimmable bulbs. On a tongue-and-groove panelled soffit, screw the backplate into a batten rather than into the board alone.
