The transformer sits in a rectangular black housing with rounded corners, labelled on top. On the mains side, a 180 cm black cable ends in a plug to connect to a socket. The housing measures 9 cm square by 6 cm high and weighs 1 kg.

12 V power supply for garden lights

The output is 12 V, an extra-low voltage suited to lights buried in the ground or placed in flower beds. The stated power is 24 W: add up the power of the connected lights and stay below that figure. It bears the name of the Trädgård range, whose recessed three-LED spotlight also runs on 12 V. The housing is rated IP64: sealed against dust and protected from water splashes. Its Class II rating means double insulation, with no earth wire.

Where to place the transformer

Install it near an outdoor socket, raised off the ground so that it never sits in rainwater: against a wall, under an eave or in a box. The 180 cm of cable leaves some slack between the socket and the start of the low-voltage circuit.
