Square lantern on a chain
The lantern is made of solid brass with an antique brass finish; the English retailer states that it is hand-crafted and waxed. Four clear glass panes surround the three candle bulbs, beneath a pitched roof topped with an openwork dome. A ring at the top holds the chain, which runs up to a small round ceiling rose.
Three E14 bulbs required
The three E14 lampholders each accept up to 60 W; bulbs are not included. Clear LED flame bulbs keep the look of candles behind the glass. A dimmer can control the whole fitting if these LED bulbs are dimmable. Rated IP44, the pendant light withstands damp and rain blowing into an open space, but it still belongs under a roof: a porch, a covered walkway or a covered pergola.
Adjustable height and ceiling fixing
The lantern alone measures 44 cm high by 22 cm wide. With the chain, the total height can be adjusted from 55.5 to 111.5 cm, which keeps a clear passage beneath a low ceiling. It weighs 4.59 kg: secure it to a joist or a concrete slab, not simply to wood panelling. Under a porch, leave about 2 m between the bottom of the lantern and the ground.
