About this light

The hanging version of the Lighthouse lantern: a 13.4 cm diameter opal glass cylinder, banded with brushed steel rings, hangs from a chain with chunky links. It lights a porch, a covered entrance or the area beneath a pergola, with a soft, diffused light that hides the bulb.

Description

Banded lantern and chunky-link chain

The domed cap, horizontal rings and slim uprights are in die-cast zinc with a brushed steel finish, echoed by the chain and the round ceiling plate. The slightly opalescent glass hides the lampholder and gives the lantern the look of a small lighthouse lamp.

Bulb and protection

It takes an E27 bulb of up to 60 W, sold separately; an LED bulb can be used. Its IP44 rating protects it against water splashes: it is suitable under an eave, a canopy or an open porch. Class I luminaire, must be earthed.

Height and fixing

The lantern body is 19.6 cm high. By adjusting the chain, the total height ranges from 39.1 cm to 186.1 cm, so it suits a low porch ceiling as well as a high entrance. It weighs 1.25 kg. Above a walkway, keep the bottom of the lantern at least 2 m from the ground so people can pass without bumping into it.
